Something occurred to me today – and it’s this: If you work in sales or your role is, in some way to sell something, there’ll be occasions where you feel like you’re “pestering” your potential customers.
It may be that you’ve spoken, submitted a proposal and now want to follow up with a call or an email. It could be that it’s the first time you’ve called this person and you feel that they might be annoyed as you’re interrupting their working day.
And sometimes those feelings of pestering create a situation of inactivity on your part. You don’t call them as you don’t want to appear to be making a pain in the backside of yourself.
But the thing is, if you know – not just believe but KNOW you can help this person out with your product or service, then how on earth can you feel like you’re pestering them?
And that’s what it is – you feel like you’re being a pest because you don’t believe or even better KNOW that you have something that can make their lives infinitely better than they are currently.
So get that belief, that knowledge in place – understand your product, understand the problems it solves and you’ll never, ever feel like you’re pestering your prospects again
